The aftermath of Election Day 2000 saw a lot of heated rhetoric, sometimes known as "spin." The same facts, seen from diametrically opposed viewpoints seemed to inhabit separate - but parallel - universes depending on whether a Republican or a Democrat is describing said facts. But, as both Vice President Gore and President-elect Bush said after the Supreme Court ended the election, now is the time to put party differences aside, and unite in an orgy of bipartisan cooperation.
